Detox

Finally!
Non pot smokers may be looking forward to April 20th this year. Dr. Dre and producer Just Blaze have announced that the long awaited Detox album will be released on the stoners holiday, 4/20. I have been looking forward to this album for a long time. His latest singles Kush and I Need a Doctor have me pretty excited to hear the rest of the album.

I Need a Doctor has everything it needs to be a huge hit. Here it is if you haven't heard it. I have yet to find a mastered version and I don't think one has been released yet. This is the best I got.

MLK Day

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I'd like to know everyones favorite African American Person. It could be a celebrity, political figure, cartoon character, athlete, musician, etc...

Personally, my favorite is Kamaal Ibn John Fareed, better known as Q-Tip. He is 1/3 of the 90's rap group A Tribe Called Quest. Not only do I like him because of his bad ass name, but his music is classic. For those of you who don't know about A Tribe Called Quest, I recommend you check them out. It's pretty chill music, here is my favorite song

Playoffs.

Not even halfway through the 2nd quarter of the Bears Seahawks game and I'm thinking to myself...What the hell. Why are these 2 teams playing right now? Neither of them deserve to be playing at this time in January. Bears had the easiest schedule in football and Devin Hester is at least 75% of their team. As for the seahawks well...someone from the NFC west had to make it. How they beat the Saints is beyond me, must have been a fluke. So I would like to congratulate the Packers on a super bowl birth because there is no way either of these two teams could beat them. Its too bad we couldnt have seen some real competition in this game. I guess thats what the AFC is for.

Devin Hester returns a punt return for a touchdown against the Seahawks in the fourth quarter.

...Really?

Gucci Mane was recently released from a mental institution for incidents stemming back to the police raid of fellow rapper, Waka Flocka Flame's house. Clearly his release was a mistake. Anyone who thinks that getting an ice cream cone tattooed on the right side of their face is a good idea belongs in the loony bin. I can't wait for the day when people wake up and realize that his music is garbage. Good luck finding work when that day comes because nobody can take this guy seriously anymore. I can't help but crack up every time I see this picture.

Badgers...

I know the Rose Bowl was almost two weeks ago, but I am still pissed off about it. I give credit to Andy Dalton for his stellar play but it was the badgers game to win. The play calling was questionable throughout the entire game. Bret Bielema must have completely forgotten about his All American running back John Clay until the final drive. After the Badgers scored on that drive, they obviously had to attempt the 2 point conversion. The play call here is what really makes me mad. A pass. Yes, Scott Tolzien had a great season, but when you have arguably the best offensive line in college football and not to mention John Clay running the ball, a pass makes no sense.

Looking to next season I get a bit nervous. We lose a lot of talent including John Clay, crucial offensive linemen Gabe Carimi and John Moffit, speedy receiver/return man David Gilreath, All American DE JJ Watt, the always reliable SS Jay Valai, TE Lance Kendricks, and perhaps most importantly, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award winning QB Scott Tolzien.

There are however some players I look forward to watch play next year. Chris Borland is expected to return to the defense after missing almost his entire sophomore season. He was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2009 and I am excited to how well he can play next year. James White is my favorite player to watch simply because of his big play ability. He can break out on a huge run on any play thanks to his great speed. He should be fun to watch as his game continues to grow.

The biggest question for the Badgers next year is who will start at quarterback. As of right now, Sophomore to be Jon Budmayr is expected to start. I liked what I saw from Budmayr based on his very limited playing time last year. I wouldnt mind seeing Curt Phillips fight for the position. I was pretty high on him when he was a freshman primarily because he is a dual threat quarterback. Injuries have set him back and I hope he doesnt give up as the younger Budmayr passes him on the depth chart.

Congrats to the Badgers on the Big Ten Championship. Here's to next season, and another Rose Bowl appearance.
